Foreign Friends

July 2015

This summer has shown me how important it is to maintain my international friendships. It does pay to have friends all over the world, but more importantly it's indescribably nice to be able to spend time in a foreign city with a good foreign friend. I should make it clear that I don't make generally make distinctions between my "foreign" and "non-foreign" friends, only that this post is a particular shout out to those European pals who are still willing and able to tolerate this curly haired, hiccuping spaz when I invade your homelands. Whether it's discussing cultural differences, language barriers, or exploring a city together, words cannot express my gratitude for these friends who I get to see so rarely. We may not be close in miles or get to talk as often as we would like, but it's good to know that oceans and time are no obstacles.

To all of my friends, "foreign" and otherwise, thank you all for being fantastic human beings and for being in my life.
